If you like perfect weather, spectacular beaches, a little fog, tasty cuisine, beautiful and challenging hiking trails, award-winning wines, white water waves crashing onto rocky cliffs, gorgeous sunrises over striking hillsides, and awesome ocean sunset views, then consider Arroyo Grande for the Feast of Tabernacles 2023. 

Arroyo Grande (Spanish for “big creek”) is a peaceful enclave by the bay in beautiful San Luis Obispo County. Nestled in the picturesque coastal hills of California, the area is kept cool and comfortable in late September by a slight fog. Arroyo Grande is halfway between Los Angeles (200 miles south) and the Bay Area (200 miles north). It is in the heart of California’s scenic Central Coast, anchored by some of California's finest vineyards and best-preserved examples of 18th-century Spanish architecture. 

A stone's throw from miles of national forest, state parks, ocean beaches, sparkling freshwater lakes and mountain ranges, Arroyo Grande is full of genuine character and charm. The one-of-a-kind historic village has a walkable downtown and a bevy of beautiful Victorian buildings to explore, with antique shops, specialty stores, fine boutiques, restaurants, and eateries, serving a variety of food and beverage for most every taste.  

“Warm and welcoming,” this is the central coast at its best. Those who visited here in 2012 will remember that San Luis Obispo is just a few miles to the north of Arroyo Grande. The year-round mild weather makes AG a recreation paradise for biking, golf, tennis, water activities, hiking, mountain biking, plentiful wildlife, fishing, camping, surfing, rock climbing, swimming, scenic strolls, or just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful sunsets over the gorgeous blue Pacific. 

Feast activities this year include Family Day in beautiful Biddle Regional Wilderness Park (just north of Arroyo Grande) and an exciting Whale Watching Boat Tour embarking from beautiful Morrow Bay. Whales are not guaranteed but it should be another great event. Seating is limited; so sign up quickly.

A fabalous dinner-dance is also planned inside, at the posh SloBrew Gatherings Event Venue in San Luis Obispo CA, where their goal is to offer "inspired events", great food and of course an opportunity to try their own brands made right there.

This area is home to more than 170 bonded wineries, 25,000 acres of vineyards, and several breweries. The central coast area is recognized as the heart of California's premium wine culture and the fastest growing wine region in the state.  

Of course, your experience in Arroyo Grande would not be complete without an excursion to the famed Hearst Castle. Exploring this famous "castle" is an over 2-hour unique event, plus the bus trip on the coast, something not to be missed. The bus tour allows you to enter with the group at a discount.

In Arroyo Grande, brethren can be as relaxed or as busy as desired. Just minutes away are seven championship golf courses, the Pacific Ocean, and many local flavors and dining options to suit every taste and budget. These include American, barbecue, burgers, Chinese, vegetarian, fresh fish, Italian, Asian, casual deli-style, gluten free, and just about anything in-between.

In fact, there are at least 10 restaurants and plentiful shopping within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance of the Center where Feast Church Services will be held. Above all, the highlight each day of this year's feast, will be the spiritual food, meaningful festival messages, lots of fellowship and an evening Bible Study, will top off all the wonderful beauty and exciting things to do.

The weather will likely be in the 70’s during the day and 50’s at night, as the region enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate year-round. But it can be cool at night, so please plan accordingly. See you there!
