St. Augustine, FL

The charming city of St. Augustine, Florida will host the Living Church of God for its fourth year as the regional setting for the 2023 Feast of Tabernacles. The resort convention is conveniently located just off Interstate 95 less than an hour south of Jacksonville and perfectly situated amid rolling hills, golf courses, beautiful lakes teaming with wildlife, all surrounded by a brick paved esplanade – perfect for daily walks around the lakes among tropical palms and spectacular plant foliage. The site’s skillfully and meticulously landscaped location enables Feast-goers to enjoy the outdoors and picture a peaceful millennial environment amid a showcase of historical old-world charm and beautiful outdoor scenery.

This delightful city is known as the nation’s oldest continuously inhabited settlement and has over 450 years of history, art, and culture to explore. St. Augustine was first claimed for Spain by the infamous Ponce De Leon in 1513 while searching for the fabled fountain of youth. The next few decades would see failed attempts to establish a colonial presence by both France and Spain until Spanish explorers reasserted their claim over Florida in 1565. Over the next 200 years, control of Florida shifted between Great Britain and Spain. Spain finally ceded Florida to the United States in 1819, and St. Augustine was designated capital of the Florida Territory until 1824.

St. Augustine has 42 miles of top-rated shorelines less than a half hour from the site. Feast-goers can explore the old city by tram, see the lighthouse, visit fascinating museums, experience historical re-enactments, or ride in a horse-drawn carriage, all while building lifetime Feast memories. Your heart’s desire may be shopping in the city’s many outlets and boutiques or dining on a wide array of multiethnic cuisines at many exceptional restaurants and cafes. In the realm of golf, St. Augustine is phenomenal! Golf enthusiasts can tour the World Golf Hall of Fame and the PGA Tour Golf Academy and can play on world-renowned courses crafted by legendary golf pros, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. Festival activities abound that will please the whole family!
